About the Job

We’re looking for a highly motivated Accounting Manager to play an integral role in the financial operations team of our growing Company.  This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and has a lot of room for growth.  You will be tasked with managing the day to day accounting function including payroll, benefits administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and preparation of financial reports.  You will also be in involved with a wide range of projects including coordinating activities of the external auditors, supporting the budgeting process, continually evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and process improvement projects.  You'll have interaction with all departments in the business with a focus on developing processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial and commercial operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Plan, organize, direct and coordinate all accounting related functions including general ledger maintenance, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, procurement, accounts payable, payroll, and benefits administration.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and supporting analysis
  • Analyze financial results and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure financial statements are complete, accurate, and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Work with external accounting firm to complete annual financial statement audits and provide required information to file Federal and State tax returns in a timely manner
  • Play a key role in the financial budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Support administration of company’s equity incentive plan
  • Produce and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets including use of pivot tables
  • Develop and maintain relationships with company’s attorneys, external auditors, vendors and bankers
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of financial operations
  • Perform special projects on an as needed basis
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to research information, problem-solve and coordinate projects

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA and/or MBA a plus
  • 5 + years’ experience in progressively responsible financial accounting roles, preferably in a Software or Technology company
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced evolving growth environment and be able to manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • Superior knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial statement preparation
  • Experience reviewing and editing commercial sales contracts is a plus
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and must be proficient using Quickbooks Online
  • Prior experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM service is a plus
  • At least intermediate level proficiency in MS Office and superior knowledge using Excel
  • Must be an excellent communicator who is good with grammar and spelling
  • Highly organized, with good time management and prioritization skills, acute attention to detail
  • Self-starter with proven ability to research information, problem-solve and coordinate projects
  • Able to maintain highest level of confidentiality, and exercise sound business judgment
  • Must have a positive attitude and approach all interactions with a customer service orientation
  • Self-motivated, tenacious, works with a sense of urgency, and thrives in a self-directed entrepreneurial environment; enjoys challenges

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full time, salaried position with competitive compensation and benefits including 20 paid days off per year, paid parental leave, SIMPLE IRA, and a comprehensive health plan, including vision and dental, provided at no cost to the employee.
