About the Role
We're looking for a highly motivated Product Manager to lead a product team focused on users and growth in emerging segments on our platform (e.g., online colleges, graduate programs, Pre-K). As a user growth-focused product manager, you’ll have the opportunity to impact hundreds of thousands of Niche users navigating the complicated search for the right school or colleges as well as directly impact a growing company. You’ll work closely with the Product Development Organization and other key stakeholders to understand our users and the company’s strategic objectives to inform prioritization of the growth roadmap.  Additionally, you will act as the product owner on a newly forming growth product team working closely with the team’s scrum master, designers, and developers to build and regularly release using agile methodology. Lastly, you will partner with the Reporting & Analytics team to validate and inform development and strategic initiatives.

What You Will Do

During the 1st Month:

• Collaborate with various team members to learn about the company
• Attend product team meetings to begin to understand the workflow and build relationships across the product development organization 
• Collaborate with product managers and project managers across the Product department to learn about our tools, workflow, and analytical process
• Shadow product management team members to learn more about how we collaborate with other areas of the business and how your role fits with external stakeholders and teams
• Take a detailed audit of the current state of the online college and graduate programs segments from a product perspective to inform future strategy and development and align to company goals
• Work with key stakeholders to begin to understand and assess our current SEO strategies to identify growth opportunities and future initiatives

Within 3 Months:

• Assume the role of Product Owner on the user product team; this includes communicating and gathering requirements from stakeholders, maintaining and prioritizing a product backlog, and running bi-weekly sprint planning meetings
• Begin to analyze key user and business metrics and monitor results of various releases
• Take results from detailed audit and work with key internal stakeholders to build out the strategic direction for the growth initiatives
• Collaborate with other product managers and UX designers to gain expertise in our users and ensure work stays aligned to the product vision

Within 6 Months:

• Full ownership of the user product backlog; this includes research and development of new features/initiatives, understanding market trends, working with internal stakeholders, and aligning priorities to product and business strategic initiatives
• Responsible for analyzing and reporting on key metrics and KPIs of emerging segments; turn analysis into actionable next steps and enhancements
• Have an understanding of the website tech stack and an ability to work and communicate effectively with developers on the team
• Work closely with marketing teams (brand, product, and growth) to introduce new features and drive growth

Within 12 months:

• You will have deep knowledge of all aspects of emerging market levers and how they can impact company strategy 
• Use data-driven and user insights to inform overall product and business strategy
• Continue to develop a long-term strategy; expand into other segments as the Niche platform evolves and expands. 

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative field
• 3+ years of relevant work experience as a product manager, preferably in a scrum environment
• Experience with SEO as part of product development
• Self-directed; ability to translate vague requirements into prioritized problems to solve
• A passion for exploration and learning new things; we use bleeding-edge technologies and tools which requires regular research, resourcefulness, and self-motivated learning
• Data-driven decision making, with A/B testing experience
• Highly empathetic; ability to think critically about our users, identify their pain points, and translate them into opportunities
