About the Role

We’re looking for a fearless new Sales Development Representative to connect with school districts and charter schools.  Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by reaching out to potential clients via phone and email.

Prospecting and lead generation activities are primarily focused on making warm and cold telephone calls, as well as sending emails to leads in our database.  You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with customers.

  • Set up meetings/calls between prospective K-12 clients and Partnerships Executives
  • Contact potential clients through phone calls and emails with Sales Enablement Platform
  • Be the voice of our company by introducing potential clients to our brand
  • Find the best contact for each account
  • Report to the SDR Manager weekly with sales results
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans
  • Be thorough and organized in your documentation in our CRM
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market

What You Will Do

During the 1st Month:

  • Attend onboarding sessions to better understand our internal processes and learn about the company
  • Dive into our sales training and quickly start to develop an understanding of our customers and enrollment marketing solutions
  • Role play, role play, role play until you’re confident and comfortable with verbiage
  • Learn the sales process and understand key performance indicators
  • Jump into the day-to-day duties of an SDR.  You will call and email your assigned prospects while navigating Salesforce and learn the platform, Outreach
  • Use investigative skills to identify the correct contact for each account

Within 3 Months:

  • Own your numbers -- hit your qualified customer appointments number 
  • Work closely with Partnerships Executives to establish a process and strategy to achieve goals and progressively seek new business
  • Become an expert to confidently speak to product features 
  • Work with other team members to determine what messaging is resonating with your segment and continue to build out based on that data

Within 6 Months:

  • Effortlessly fold in cold outreach to your routine where you can jump into a phone conversation with anyone, while consistently meeting your numbers
  • Tap into the knowledge you’ve been building to discover totally new sources of leads where we will be able to reach out to them
  • Step up as a leader to the new team members

Within 12 Months:

  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market 
  • Become a senior member of the team where you will help onboard, train, and mentor your peers
  • Be prepared to take on additional responsibilities

What We Are Looking For

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics preferred

Useful Experience

  • Experience of selling services into school districts or charter schools
  • Hands-on phone experience (preferably cold calls)
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Experience with CRM software or Sales Enablement platform (ie: Salesforce)
